In the first interview in a five part weekly series, The Women of Online Hypnosis, I've interviewed Mistress Cat. Webmistress of www.hypnodomme.com. I'm sure that you've probably seen her mentioned in various places around the net, continue reading to get to know her a little better! HypnoFocus: I'd like to go ahead and start out with some of the usual biographical questions, who you are, where you're from, and how long you've been interested in Hypnosis. Mistress Cat: Ah, ok...that's the easy part, right? HypnoFocus: It just seems like a good place to start. Mistress Cat: I'm Cat...prefer "Mistress" Cat and I'm living in the DFW area of Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth) (is that vague enough?) HypnoFocus: Pefect, I would feel uncomfortable posting one's address :-) Mistress Cat: I'm 28 but claim 24 and younger at heart...I started doing "unbirthdays" somewhere back there and so now I don't age ;) HypnoFocus: One of the lesser publicized bennefits of Hypnosis?
Mistress Cat: I'm quite tall, 5'12" (I know that doesn't really exist ;))
Mistress Cat: I've been interested in hypnosis since I can remember but what sticks out the most is around age 8 I was hypnotizing My cat alot...he always went to sleep and I was gaining confidence... HypnoFocus: How did you initially learn about hypnosis?
HypnoFocus: Would you consider yourself to be self-made / self-educated? Mistress Cat: ah I was for a while - but then I was mentored by a very highly regarded stage hypnotist and then got certified - although with the erotic hypnosis I don't claim that on the site...it's for entertainment :) HypnoFocus: Naturally. HypnoFocus: Would you say that you've always been outgoing with the subject of hypnosis or did you go through a phase where the subject was embarrasing?
Mistress Cat: ah - I think I don't get embarassed easily - I'm very social so I wasn't ever one to have to "come out" - I talk about it and bring up the subject in daily life to others...how it can help and how it's interesting...etc. HypnoFocus: Would you tell me a little about your website? Mistress Cat: ah, the website...a constant work in progress...it's what I call a "Simple Work of a Complex Enigma" - meaning it started off being a simple site...and it's growing slowly to really reflect how I feel about hypnosis and where I want t o lead others... HypnoFocus: So then you are a firm believer in online inductions?
HypnoFocus: In your experience, what would you say, if anything, are the differences between online hypnosis and voice hypnosis?
Mistress Cat: online hypnosis can be very much like poetry to the mind...it's slowly brought about and can be much more creative than some of the voice inductions. You've got to get that subject to the point of visualizing you there...whispering..
.it's a slow seduction. Voice hypnosis can be more forceful and quicker in some ways...yet later can become the slower paced relaxation most seek...they both vary so much, I think. HypnoFocus: At what point did you realize that hypnosis could be used for erotic purposes? Mistress Cat: Ah, very good question...I had followed someone into an IRC chatroom and it was named HypnoticFantasies or HypnoFantasia...My mind started reeling at the idea! I had to get into this room and ask questions...they got answered and now I happen to be the founder of the channel there. I stepped in and gradually became a fixture :) I was excited that there were so many options to hypnosis - eroticism being one of them. I'm a very sexual/sensual person so that idea just opened more doo rs to My imagination - and now My life. HypnoFocus: So would you say that for the most part you would credit your entry into erotic hypnosis with the Internet? Mistress Cat: absolutely. HypnoFocus: Do you read the EMCSA?
HypnoFocus: Which type of stories do you prefer when you visit the EMCSA? Mistress Cat: Honestly? I prefer the ones that spark My imagination...give Me something to fantasize about and bring fantasies of others to life...those stories that really speak to My style. I couldn't give one example because there's so many st yles out there - but of course the basic mind control/woman in charge type stories...are great. I like the sneaky inductions, too :) HypnoFocus: Do you have any plans to do stage hypnosis? Mistress Cat: I had been invited a few times...but I didn't have the time. I would love to have a chance at a few subjects at once on a stage...I enjoy making people laugh and there's nothing like introducing something new to skeptics...so yes, I would consider it but I don't have set plans for it. HypnoFocus: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? Mistress Cat: Honestly? Living in the Colorado mountains, taking time out for Myself and still trancing away! I would love to learn alot during those years and be able to teach others the art of hypnosis. I think that would be a nice spot to be in. Maybe having found new things with regards to hypnosis - you know, being able to prove new things that others never tried before. And of course, I see Myself just as young as I am now ;) And just as Dominant! HypnoFocus: Do you think the Erotic Hypnosis community will ever be as organized or as well known as, for example, the BDSM community? Mistress Cat: I think it already is :) I find so many are adding the hypnosis to their repertoire that it's out there... I see it simply as a growing interest that's consistently getting watered and spread. I think just in the past few years it' s pretty much exploded...but I was there when there were just a few in the chatroom - and I saw it grow. It's amazing what word of mouth does - and seductive whispers...
Mistress Cat: There are so many out there...I think anyone would have to say "yes" to that question. I mean, from BDSM with it's many subcultures below it...to Hypnosis and it's many subcultures...to My lovely computer nerdiness...and it's many ch oices. I really don't know how to specify that one. HypnoFocus: How do you feel about Television? Mistress Cat: I don't watch it much at all. I won't have one in My bedroom if you pay Me. I think they are good for things...in moderation...just like anything you can gain information from them. On one hand I'd love to be there speaking to so m any at one time...it's mass marketing and such...but on the other I think it's just as well I'm not. I'd probably miss My own show! It's a very hypnotic tool though...many are hypnotized by their TV's everyday! I would much rather be here on the compu ter with it's multimedia capabilities now. HypnoFocus: Do you have a favorite technique or post hypnotic command that you give to people that you are being "intimate" with? Mistress Cat: A favorite...hmm...good question. If I had to choose just one for the sake of this interview I suppose I would pick trigger words that make you feel surges of pleasure...you know, that pleasure that you DON'T forget...first orgasms.. .best orgasms...constant pulsing sensual stuff :) Am I getting carried away? Touching a certain spot on someone and creating a pleasure zone is fun, too.
HypnoFocus: You certainly have a talent for words, with imagery like that I'm sure it must be quite enjoyable for the subject. Mistress Cat: I used to - in fact I had a time when I was a "switch" but I haven't gone under in over a year now...I just feel more comfortable being the one in control. I enjoy this side of things and don't feel I'll be leaning toward the other s ide ever again - I'm spoiled! I do however still listen to others inductions to gain new ideas and knowledge... HypnoFocus: As a subject, what's the most interesting or unusual experience that you've had? Mistress Cat: wow, honestly the most unusual was mind control...I did things I did not agree with and regretted it later. I decided early on I wouldn't ever do that to someone that didn't WANT it...it's real hard not to cross lines...but I do what I can to keep communication open with subjects and keep information going during inductions... HypnoFocus: If it's not too personal, could you go into a little more detail? Mistress Cat: it's too personal...but I am one of the hypnotists that really argues the mind control/conditioning idea. Some do not think it's possible but I certainly do with the right circumstances and the right push. HypnoFocus: Do you think that it's a matter of there being depths of hypnosis that make it possible, or do you think that it's more along the lines of finding certain drives or interests in a person's psychology and using that as a vehicle to attac h something to, or is it something else? Mistress Cat: yes - all of that and more. I think it depends on the frame of mind someone is in, what the hypnotist knows of your background and ideals, how often you go under with that said hypnotist and the trust levels...it's combinations of th ese. HypnoFocus: Thank you for sharing that with us. On a lighter note, have you ever had a subject react to a suggestion in such an unexpected way that it was humorous? Mistress Cat: yes, I had someone listening in a chatroom to My voice and they got so relaxed they fell out of their chair and it woke them up...we laughed for a while about that in channel :) It was in Yahoo Chat
