In January 2004, while my girlfriend and I were on our European Erotic Hypnosis Community Building Trip, I received an e-mail from a french author requesting an interview for a book. The book, Le Sexe Bizarre (Bizarre Sex, an illustrated guide of strange erotism), is scheduled to be published in Paris in Autumn of 2004. Anyway, long story made short, I did the interview over e-mail, and we did some follow up e-mails after that, and towards the end of March 2004, the project was finished. Information on how to buy the book will be made avialable on Hypnofocus.com when that information becomes available.

Since it is frequently the case that my long winded responses exceed the amount of space available in any given book or magazine, I will generally post the original interviews on my website. With the help of Babelfish along with my french speaking girlfriend, I've come to the conclusion that reading this interview in full will not detract from reading the article in the book one bit. So here it is for everyone's enjoyment!

Who are you? Name, age, pseudonym, profession, origin, studies, where do you live-work, what were your parent's jobs? Sometimes it's interesting to know.

My name is Aaron Glotfelter. I'm a 26 year old Erotic Hypnotist Pornographer from North America. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, but grew up all over the United States. No, I wasn't a military brat, it was just the case that my mother would frequently feel the need to move us to another state.

My pseudonym is Severed Dreams. It came from the title of one of my favorite episodes of a science fiction television show called Babylon 5. Personally, it serves as a reminder that sometimes you need to give up on old dreams in order to have new dreams. That it's a part of life. I have a background in the gothic subculture, so I wanted something that sounded a little dark, but hopeful at the same time.

I'm a full time Hypnotist Pornographer. I own and operate a small company with a small staff. When I'm not doing the hypnotist thing, I'm doing the business stuff, editing footage, doing web design and programming, and basically anything else that needs doing. It's a handful, but I manage.

Additionally, I spend a lot of time doing what I call Erotic Hypnosis Community Building. When I see the progress that the Gay and the BDSM communities have made in providing educational and emotional support to their members, it really motivates me to do the same for the Erotic Hypnosis Community.

When did you create your websites? Why?

I created my first fetish related website towards the end of the summer of 2000. I had been running a small web development company at the time, and I had a guy working for me who wanted more than anything to be a pornographer. Every night after work, we'd have a few cocktails and enjoy the Arizona night, and he would tell me everything that he knew about the business.

Then I went to a hacker conference called H2K in New York City and heard Jello Biafra, the former lead singer of the punk rock band The Dead Kennedys speak. He said something that really stuck with me. He said that if you're not making a million dollars a year and driving three S.U.V.s, then you're not a failure. He encouraged us to do what we wanted to do, not what we thought would get us super rich. So I flew back home and had a long talk with my friend who wanted to be a pornographer. After that we terminated our boring project, and started doing Internet Porn.

The thing is, I had always had the Erotic Hypnosis Fetish, but was too embarrassed to openly discuss it. It was really the most closely guarded secret that I had. I would have sooner died than discussed it with anyone who wasn't deeply intimate with me already. Well, one night I saw the opportunity to do it for the web, and went for it. After that there was no turning back.

That's when we started Hypnotized Fetish-Sluts ( http://www.fetish-sluts.com/hypno ). It was a site that was all still images. Then one night after leaving a video camera running during a photo session, we realized that video was the way of the future. HypnoGames ( http://www.hypnogames.com ) was born. Some time after that, I realized that I wanted to get more involved in the community building aspects, so HypnoFocus ( http://www.hypnofocus.com ) was created. Later I started HypnosisFetish ( http://www.hypnosisfetish.com ) as a backup to HypnoGames and a way to share the load. Most recently I've been working on OnlineHypno ( http://www.onlinehypno.com ) to fill the role of Hypnotized Fetish-Sluts. I don't really agree with the connotation of the slut name. Mostly it's a holdback from our early days of just doing porn. As I started to leave that behind, and focus primarily on the Erotic Hypnosis Fetish, I became more and more uncomfortable with the Hypnotized Fetish-Sluts name. I don't really see the girls that way. I don't see sex in that way in general. To me it's in the interest of fun, excitement and erotica, not something dirty or slutty.

I consider myself to be very fortunate, on account that I can freely and openly discuss an interest that is so prevalent and important in my life.

Can you tell us about the origin of your erotic hypnosis fantasies? How old were you when you discovered that you could hypnotize girls and make them do what you asked them? What were your first sex-plays with hypnosis?

I don't really have a specific moment that I could point to and say \"That's how it happened.\" I do remember reading an article on hypnosis in an encyclopedia in the third grade and thinking that it would be neat to do. For me, the interest was simply always there. It was a part of my mind ever since I was old enough to have a mind.

Growing up, I moved around a lot, so I always had access to new libraries to continue my studies on the subject of hypnosis. On the other side of the coin, because of all this moving around, I didn't know a whole lot of girls, and the ones I did know, I never got incredibly close to, as I didn't know them for long.

I became interested in girls at an early age, which was a good thing, because there were always a lot of young hot women around my house. My mother had me at an early age, so when I was 9, all of her friends were 21 to 29. They were sexually attractive, towering over me with large breasts and gorgeous bodies, and were completely unattainable.

To me it was only natural that I would develop an interest in hypnosis. Of course, there was never a shortage of erotically charged hypnosis and mind control themes in the popular media.

Occasionally I would fool around with a little hypnosis with a girlfriend in high school. However, it was always very light stuff. For me, the confidence and the experience weren't there yet.

When did you start using hypnosis for sex?

In college I started to realize the possibilities. Although I didn't truly open up until a few years ago, when I fully embraced my interest publicly.

How many girls had an orgasm under your mind-control?

That's a tough one to answer. I don't make a notch on the back of my pocket watch every time I do it. I would estimate that it's somewhere in the one hundred range at this point in time.

However, it's important to recognize that hypnosis isn't mind-control. Mind control typically features extreme hardships such as stress, sleep deprivation, radical dietary alteration, abuse, etc. Hypnosis, erotic or otherwise, is nothing like that. Hypnosis tends to be a pleasant and relaxing experience. Also, hypnosis generally requires a willing participant, or at least a passive one. Regardless, hypnosis is about participation and cooperation, where mind control is about conflict and conquest..

Can you tell us about your favorite hypnosis-erotic plays?

Wow, that's a tough one, there's so many to choose from.

One of the things that I enjoy doing when I'm visiting with my friends in the BDSM/Fetish community is \"hypno-spanking.\" Generally this is when I use a hypnotic suggestion to convince a woman that the lightest touch feels like a firm spank. I came up with this on account that I don't mind some very light symbolic spanking in my sex life, but I often personally fell uncomfortable going to the extremes that some who get really in to it go to. So to plug in to that world, I think like a hypnotist and use her own mind, memory and fantasy to create the limit that she wants to feel, while at the same time I maintain my own sense of limits for myself.

Another example of what I enjoy is when I'm in the process of being sexually intimate with one of my girlfriends, and we are having sexual intercourse, to use a hypnotic suggestion to cause her to forget that we are having sex and to not notice it, yet at the same time to keep her body engaged in the activity. This is incredible, because initially she'll have a really confused look on her face, and then she'll just start talking about whatever is on her mind. When I get so turned on by this that I can't take it any more, I snap my fingers and all the memory and sensations and arousal and everything comes flooding back in to her mind all at once. This triggers a very powerful simultaneous orgasm in both of us.

These are just two examples of the limitless possibilities for the silly but fun stuff. However, the most effective and erotic use that I have personally found for hypnosis is to use it to clear away all the distractions from a woman's mind during foreplay. Using the power of suggestion, you can brush away all the little worries, and fears, and jealousies, and distractions. With hypnotism you can cause her not to feel embarrassed or inadequate, to relieve her of worries about her self body image. This makes it possible to have a truly open and sexual experience, to connect in a deep way. there is a world of difference between the type of sexual pleasure a woman feels when she's got other things on her mind and the type of sex a woman has when she's completely in the moment, and none of those distractions are there. As a guy, this is sort of a new concept to me, but this is something that every woman knows. Erotic hypnosis not only makes it possible, it makes it easy.

Do you play with a girlfriend? Can you tell us about her?

I freely play with any woman who is interested in having the erotic hypnosis experience. However, because of my straight orientation and my tight integration of hypnosis with my personal sexuality, I will generally feel uncomfortable hypnotizing a male. If I'm working with a couple, then it's usually okay, because I just focus on hypnotizing the woman, and if it happens to the guy at the same time, then that's cool too.

I'd rather not discuss my private relationship with my girlfriend in this forum. So much of my life and sexuality are public that I'd prefer to keep a few things private. Also, she isn't interested in being public about her sexuality in the way that I am, and I respect that.

What do you say?

It depends on the situation and the person. Everyone is an individual and everyone responds differently. Naturally there are some commonalities in my technique, but for me it's just something that happens naturally. When I do my hypnosis, I'm not sitting there thinking about what I'm going to say. I'm completely focused on the lady that I'm hypnotizing. Since all of my thoughts are on her reactions and body language, my words and actions need to be instinctive. I let me subconscious mind handle all that stuff.

What kind of voice do you have?

Once again, it depends on what is necessary. Sometimes I have the soothing and relaxing soft voice. Sometimes I speak fast and excited like an auctioneer. Sometimes I use a very authoritative voice. People react differently each way.

What kind of accessories do you have?

Nothing beats a good old fashioned pocket watch. Although no props are really necessary. Being in the public eye, I try to use different things to keep it interesting.

How long does it usually last?

That's a more difficult question. Generally the formal ritualism of the hypnotic trance process takes from one to three hours. It really isn't necessary, though. Hypnotic suggestibility can be established within seconds, using only a few words. It really depends on the purpose.

Hypnotic suggestions as well as post hypnotic suggestions, in other words commands given in the trance state and commands that are given to be done at a later time can last either a short period of time or can last indefinitely. Once again, it depends on the context.

What different erotic service/plays do you ask or do?

That list could be the subject of an entire book in it's self.

How would you define your sexuality?

For me, sex is in the mind. As such, I can have a deeply intimate encounter with anyone that I speak with. My focus is on eroticism and not intercourse. Of course I enjoy intercourse a great deal, but because of the frequency that I have it, I don't feel the desperate need to have sexual intercourse with every woman that I'm intimate with. Women can sense this along with my openness on the topic, and often allow themselves to enjoy the erotic aspects of my sexuality without feeling that they're going to be obligated to have sexual intercourse. Of course, the ability to trigger an orgasm response in a woman just by talking to her helps me to have this confidence.

How do you feel when you have a woman, or different women, under control? What makes you horny?

It's the sense of intimacy. When I have a woman in a hypnotic state, completely focused on my voice, and fully responsive to me in the exclusion of everything else, I feel a deep sense of connection. It's this closeness that causes me to feel aroused.

Is it more the look of the girls?

There are many things that are visually appealing to me about women in general and women in a trance state specifically. After all, I am a male, and we have a very strong relationship in our brain between visual perception and sexual arousal.

However, I think the thing that really does it for me, is that when you relax a woman as part of the hypnotic induction and then have her close her eyes, you see her in an unguarded way that is very similar to how you would see a woman that you are sharing your bed with, asleep in a moment of tenderness. It's the idea that I can see a personal aspect of a woman that is intimate within ten or twenty minutes of meeting her that is what's amazing to me.

Is it the feeling that their body has turned into a remote-wire sex-machine?

This rarely factors in to it, because that's not what they are at all. They are never really unconscious as hypnotic subjects, they're just in a different state of consciousness. It's easy to think of a woman as a sexual object, men do it all the time, but I think it's important to keep a sense of their humanity.

Now, having said that, if I'm with someone that I feel comfortable with, and they feel comfortable with me, and we have a good sense of each other, I make give a hypnotic suggestion to feel that way. This is really an advanced for of hypno-play, however.

Or the idea that they can not have any thoughts, any desires of their own, that they belong to you?

There is a fantasy aspect of hypnosis that feels that way. However, it's really important to remember that it's a false fantasy. They do have thoughts, at the moment, however, it just happens to be the case that your words are their thoughts. They do have desires, but they may be in the background to the desires that you bring to the foreground of their mind. Momentarily they may belong to you, but they are still their own person. It's one thing to project this aura, but it's another thing entirely to believe it. It's always important to remember that a hypnotized woman isn't like a computer only better because it has tits, but instead is a living, thinking, feeling human being with their own thoughts, ideas, dreams and feelings.

Is orgasm on command easy?

You bet! Fun too!

In general, yes. An orgasm is a natural function of the human body. People orgasm in their dreams all the time.

Of course, if you're working with a virgin, who has never had an orgasm before and isn't really in touch with her sexuality, it might be a little more challenging on account that she may not really know what an orgasm is. At that point you need to have a really good vocabulary of how women describe orgasms to themselves in their own minds or among each other. At that point you need to be a poet, and speak the language of feeling, sensation and emotion.

How long does it take to have someone cum or come?

Everyone is different.

How do you proceed?

It really depends on a lot of factors. For instance, her type of hypnotic suggestibility, her sexual tastes and desires, the comfort and safety of the environment, etc. It may look simple, but really it's quite complicated. That's why Erotic Hypnosis is more of an art than a science.

How many surfers come to see your websites?

Thousands of visitors view my website a week

Where do they come from?

They come from all over the English speaking world, and some come from beyond the English speaking world thanks to the new technology that allows the translation of webpages between languages as well as the old fashioned method of being multilingual. While I personally have difficulty picking up new languages, I have always supported trying to increase the accessibility of my websites to people of all cultures and languages. After all, hypnosis is something that anyone can do, not just those who speak English. Hypnosis requires no special equipment, and can be used to increase the quality of life even for those who have nothing. Even if you can't change the world around you, you can always change the world inside you.

In what countries is the hypnosis fetish most successful?

Right now it's the United States and the United Kingdom. Japan and Germany are next. Then follows all of Europe, then Asia, then South and Central America. On a rare occasion I'll see a little traffic from the Middle East. I'm not currently aware of any traffic from Africa.

Why?

I think this primarily has to do with the use of the English language on my website, and an anglo-centric paradigm for the marketing and promotion. Recently I've been trying to offset this by expanding the range of languages supported to some degree, as well as conducting in person Erotic Hypnosis Community Building to increasingly exotic (for me) locations.

Also, please keep in mind that this is only from my perspective. Hypnosis is quite popular in Mexico, Brazil, Germany, France, Japan, The United Kingdom, The United States, and beyond. My information is just based on my personal reach.

How many videos do you have in your catalog?

We have over 30 hours of Erotic Hypnosis videos of sessions that I have personally done, on our two primary websites: HypnoGames ( http://www.hypnogames.com ) and HypnosisFetish ( http://www.hypnosisfetish.com ).

Currently our focus is on streaming video over the Internet. We do this because it's much cheaper to put a clip on the Internet and let people watch it, than it is to produce a video tape or DVD. It also allows us to be much more faster and responsive in our production of new footage. A video clip can be filmed, edited, and uploaded within 24 hours if necessary. It would be impossible to film, edit, produce, duplicate and ship a physical item in that time period.

Additionally there are many more legal restrictions on shipping physical goods, than there are on someone coming to your website and making a request for a file.

Also, DVD technology has helped to increase our global reach of video, when we do make them. We never use region encoding for ethical reasons. We believe that people should have the right to choose to watch whatever they want to watch. Can you imagine a world where books are region encoded? That's not the type of world I want to live in.

VHS videos have numerous problems for the international market, on account that there are so many different types of television formats ranging from PAL, to NTSC, to SECAM. It's difficult to produce for all. Besides, with DVD technology available, video tapes are less appealing.

How many do you sell each month?

We currently have several hundred subscribers to our websites on a monthly basis. Because we update almost daily, we have a high percentage of repeat customers.

Which fantasies are the most popular?

That's a good question. Most of the fantasies that people have are about controlling another person. On my websites, I demonstrate Real Hypnosis. While there is a fantasy element as a matter of necessity, we keep it as realistic as possible. We use real women with real personalities. Often a lot of our female visitors comment that they appreciate that we have realistic women.

Can you describe the usual hypnosis fantasy?

Well, there's two types of hypnosis fantasy. One is hypnosis for the sake of hypnosis. The other is hypnosis for the sake of facilitating the fetish that they really want. You would be amazed that the number of foot fetishists who are in the Erotic Hypnosis world.

Can you explain the origins of the hypnosis erotism in general?

I would imagine that the erotic aspects of hypnosis started with hypnosis it's self. When most people think of hypnosis, they generally think of a beautiful young woman completely helpless to the will of a hypnotist, and powerless to resist. People also generally associate hypnosis with being commanded to remove their clothes.

When did it start? What TV-Series, or movies, or comics influence the development of this fantasy?

All of them probably. There's something sexy about the idea of hypnosis and fantasy mind control. There's a good website called Hypnosis in the Media that tracks this. You can find it on google.

Do you receive mails about erotic-hypnosis?

Yes, lots.

What are the most extravagant?

People seek power of other people to make them do things without their knowledge. I think that's kind of extravagant.

What are the funniest?

The ones that are funniest to me are the ones that assume that I'm the Magical Internet Gypsy selling Love Potions. It's often amazing to me that some people think that I'm vaguely supernatural in my abilities, yet at the same time think that I'll believe anything they tell me.

Do girls remember having an orgasm when you wake them up after your hypnosis sex-plays

It depends on the individual. Memory can be a funny thing with hypnosis. Some people don't remember at all, even if you don't give them any suggestions to cause them to forget. Other people won't forget, no matter how many suggestions that you give them to do so. Sometimes it's in between, like waking up from a dream and having it be all vivid, but then forgetting it completely by noon.

If they don't remember their orgasm, what is the benefit for them? What pleasure do they get from being hypnotized?

Even if we don't remember them, our actions still have meaning. Even if a woman doesn't remember having the orgasm, they will generally feel the positive effects for hours if not days. This goes double if she isn't having sex regularly and is not enough with her body to give herself pleasure. Frequent orgasms are always a good thing and do wonders for person's stress levels, feelings of self worth and overall well being.

In regards to the hypnotism aspect, even if her memory is a little fuzzy afterwards, virtually all of my hypnotic subjects report that they feel incredibly relaxed and rested after a session. Often they feel relaxed beyond what is normally possible in their regular life. Once again, there are numerous benefits psychologically to being relaxed and free from the daily burden of fears, cares, worries and responsibilities for a little while.

Could I get the answer to these questions from the woman you play with? I'd like to have her point of view

Unfortunately at this point in time, I don't have anyone specifically available. However, on HypnoGames and HypnosisFetish there are the occasional interview video clips. One is available outside the members area at the following URL:
