Fake Hypnosis Versus Real Hypnosis

I think that another way to look at the idea of the value of fake versus real hypnosis for erotic purposes, it to consider the larger picture of real hypnosis versus any fictional mind control themes

Please note that this doesn't excuse dishonesty. If something is being described as being real, then it should be real, if it's fake, then it shouldn't be represented as being genuine. This has nothing to do with whether or not it's erotic, but as a matter of the principle that you shouldn't support any individual or organization that lies to you, as a matter of course.

Having said that, I'll be the first to admit that I have frequently found non-real hypnosis and impossible (fictional) mind control themes to be erotic. For example, The Erotic Mind Control Stories Archive, is one of my personal favorite websites. Naturally, real hypnosis, both erotic and otherwise, is arousing to me for a number of reasons.

Ultimately, however, I think it comes down to the satisfaction derived from fantasy and imagination versus the satisfaction derived from reality and imagination. If you think about it, and consider examples from your own experiences (I know, that last sentence was \"NLP-ish,\" but don't worry, it's to facilitate, not to influence... of course, if I were being really tricky, maybe this interrupted disclaimer is nothing more than a written \"break state.\" Then again, maybe a cigar is just a cigar) I'm sure that you'll find that they are similar, but perhaps have a slightly different flavor.

In the intent of not being a shameless self promoter, I'll choose two recent examples of each, that are not among the scope of my own personal work. At the same time, however, I won't sell myself short. Now, back to the matter at hand. Let us consider the erotic aspects of real hypnosis. Fairly recently, I've been lucky enough to view the hypnosis video work of my friend Lord Hypno. In one of his set of clips, a couple is both under the affects of a post hypnotic suggestion. They go back and forth giving each other commands, in a playfully adversarial game of tit-for-tat, with a gradual and amusing escalation.

I found this clip satisfying in the sense that there was a power exchange, and competition. At the same time, the participants get in to it, experiencing a wide range of strong emotions.

However, hypnosis isn't mind control, and while amusing to imagine what limit are there to the power to influence an individual's mind, it is important to remember that there are rules (although unique to the individual) that exist that sets these boundaries. Figuring these things out on the fly is half of the fun.

On the other hand, while killing time in a hotel room at 6:00 a.m., I stumbled upon the preview of Ella Enchanted. This is a recently released movie that I had heard about some time ago, in regards to a girl who is given the gift of obedience by a magical fairy at birth. As a consequence she had to obey any order from anyone, whether she wanted to or not. As a side note, I didn't follow up on this film, because my initial impression from it's description was that the main character was a little girl, and that is an immediate disqualifier for fantasy material. Imagine my surprise when I saw the preview and there was a hot and legal adult woman with the gift of obedience!

Yes, even the non-erotic PG-13 rated rehash of an oft repeated Hollywood theme with out of place contemporary jokes and references captured the fantasy and imagination of this particular erotic hypnotist.

Even though it's not real, and can't even be possible, it's still fun to suspend disbelief as the main character is frequently given orders that she must obey. It adds to the enjoyment when you consider the fact that throughout the film, when this happens, she sort of jerks rigid, has an obedient expression on her face, and thrusts her breasts (containing ample cleavage) out. Yeah, I was willing to watch this, even at hotel pay per view prices.

So what's the point? Only that the type of material that one finds arousing, interesting, captivating, whatever, really depends on the individual. However, one should always evaluate the producer of the material that one consumes. This goes for news, movies, television, books, internet, what have you... Be an active consumer of media, not just passive. Don't just enjoy (or not-enjoy as the case may be), but enjoy and analyze. Think about and consider, not just the material, but how it makes you feel, and how it affects you.

... Of course, I would also encourage you to give consideration and support to independent sources of media. When you find something that you like, back up the people who make it. Otherwise, all you're really left with is the news and media that Disney, Rupert Murdoch, AOL/Time Warner, Sony and General Electric want you to see. Rehashed, mass produced and catering to the widest audience.
